Handwriting video maker: type it and watch a pen write it
Type a message, a quote or a short lesson. Todrawn Scribe writes it line by line with a 3D pen and turns it into a vertical or wide video in your browser, with 5 free exports a day.
How to make a handwriting video
Write the message in the text box. A line that starts with # becomes a heading, bold and lists keep their shape, and ==text== gets a highlighter stroke. Pick the Ballpoint, Chisel marker, Fineliner or Pencil, on Paper or a Dark board.
Reading pace times the writing at 1.5 to 6 words per second and pauses after sentences and paragraphs, so the pen moves at the speed people read. Switch to pen speed to time it by how fast the pen travels, and add a line pause for a beat after each line.
Choose 9:16 for TikTok, Reels or Shorts, or 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9. In 9:16 the Safe zone setting keeps the writing and the pen clear of the TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts buttons and captions, and longer text is written on one tall sheet that the view slides down.
Upload your own MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG file of up to 50 MB as music or a voice-over, and turn on the optional pen-writing sound. Export at 720p or 1080p, 24 or 30 fps, as MP4 or WebM depending on your browser. A free account exports 5 videos a day, each ending with a short Todrawn Scribe card.
When Scribe suits a handwriting video
Short written messages that should feel personal: a birthday or thank-you note, a quote, a vocabulary list, a one-minute lesson, a launch announcement. What you type is the whole script, and your text and audio stay in your browser while the video renders.
When it does not
Scribe writes in its own hand-drawn lettering, not in a font you pick or a copy of your handwriting, and it does not write over existing footage or photos. For your own handwriting, switch to Draw and write it yourself: Scribe replays your strokes. One clip runs up to 180 seconds, and there are no stock characters or generated voices.
